Our firm was invited to design the facility to host viewers of the functions that happens at the Zulu Royal Palace,eNyokeni, kwaNongoma. One of the main functions that this facility caters for is uMkhosi woMhlanga. This is an annual ceremony which is a centuries-old tradition. It takes place in September . Approximately over twenty thousand virgins gather for this very colourful and meaningful ceremony .Girls from all over South Africa arrive in all modes of transport .The function is spread over several days and represent an important rite of passage for the young girls into women hood. For the visitors, the most vivid part of the event is the reed-giving section led by Zulu princesses.
